[Shen Yee Ku, Peter Truong & Simon Hodgman] [Shen Yee sharing at Supernatural Sunday in Hobart]
Pioneering Hope Hobart Hope Hobart started its first church service on July 2005. The starting members comprised of Shen Yee, Simon Hodgman and David Mounster, who were all from Hope Brisbane. Shen Yee and the team have been actively reaching out to students at the University of Tasmania. They led many outreach activities for the students such as day trips, dinners and the Alpha courses. The Alpha course has been successful in bringing visitors to care group and the church.
Public preaching at Salamanca Market [Shen Yee giving out gospel tracts at city market]
The team is also passionate and committed in bringing the church to the lost through open air preaching, worshipping, sharing the gospel and giving out gospel tracts at their well known Salamanca market on Saturday mornings. Shoppers and tourists often stop to listen to the preaching or engage in a spiritual conversation with the team. This public proclamation of the gospel has instilled boldness in the lives of the team. Some people have attended church through this form of evangelism.
International Student Orientation [Saturday Day Trip for International Students]
Hope Hobart was privileged to receive help from a mission team from Hope Brisbane with the International Student Orientation. God opened doors for CCM to be actively involved in helping new international students through setting up a stall and inviting new students to join the club, and giving the students a city tour. God moved through our efforts and blessed the team with 33 new student contacts from the first day of the orientation program. The following week, over 20 visitors attended both Friday care group and the Saturday Day Trip to the historic site at Richmond. [CCM student club in Hobart, Tasmania]
Supernatural Sunday in Hobart [Many visitors attending Supernatural Sunday]
Hope Hobart had its first Supernatural Sunday Healing Service on Sunday with Peter Truong. The church believed God for 30 people to come. God blessed the church with a record breaking attendance of 39 people doubling the regular turnout of 18 people. Despite the majority of the congregation being non-Christians, the church was in awe when many of them came forward during altar call to receive prayer for personal needs. God’s spirit moved beautifully to touch many of them through the release of words of knowledge, prophetic words and inner healing.
A KOREAN LADY GOT HEALed BY GOD [Kim (in the middle) got healed of prolong shoulder pain]
An elderly Korean lady was healed of right shoulder pain which had lasted for 10 years. She felt someone was massaging her shoulder during prayer and the pain subsided. Two people accepted Christ during the altar call - a Chinese student and an Australian university graduate. We thank God for touching many lives in Hobart as we seek to fulfil the Great Commission. |
