A CALLING TO SERVE GOD

Ps Liem Pik Jiang (PJ) is the Senior Pastor of Hope Solo Church in Indonesia. He was born into a Christian family. He received God's calling to be a pastor when he was 13 years old at a church camp. At that time he joined an Indonesian conventional church in Solo.

He joined Hope Movement in 1993 when a dentist named Ps Hadi Kusumo and his wife, Ps Maria, pioneered the Hope church in Solo. It was an amazing moment when once again, he heard God speak to him during one of the Sunday services, that in this church, he would grow and became a great blessing for His Kingdom. He felt the closeness of the people in Hope Solo Church, and it made him want to stay in Hope Solo Church. And just as God said to him, he grew more and more in Hope Solo Church.

He began his medical studies at the University of Sebelas Maret in Solo in 1999. He graduated as a medical doctor in 2005. Then he worked in a pharmaceutical factory for a year and was running a private medical practice until Ps Hadi asked him to work fulltime for the church.



He was waiting for the fulfilment of his calling under the shepherding of Ps Hadi and Ps Maria. He started his ministry by leading the youth fellowship in Hope Solo, before moving on to leading the professional and young adults’ fellowship. After Ps Hadi and his family moved to Los Angeles, God prepared him to take over as pastor of Hope Solo, a position he’s held since 2007. He and his wife, Sister Viona, serve God together in this very blessed church. Now they have adults’ ministry, professional, youth, university, and children ministry.


HOPE OF GOD INDONESIA CHURCH

Hope of God Solo began from a burden that Jesus Christ placed in the hearts of Dr. H.S Kusumo, DDS and his wife, Ev. Maria Kusumo, Bth in 1985 when they lived in the United States. God gave them a vision to return to Indonesia and serve His Kingdom there. They were overwhelmed by this burden and said “Yes, Lord!” even though nobody supported their return to Indonesia because they had a lot of ministries in the US.

Although they had a great and promising future in the United States, they chose to submit to God and return to Indonesia in 1987. In 1988, God placed them in Solo. In 1990, God them a burden to reach out, spread the Gospel and make disciples to people who were aware of their ministry. Their fellowship was called Solo for Christ Fellowship. This fellowship ran for one and a half years and every week 40 people would come and join the fellowship. God started to speak to them through His servants to make this informal fellowship into a formal church.

In 1992, they met the Hope of God Church community. They visited the great conference, which is held every 3 months, in Bangkok twice, and sought God’s will and consulted with Hope of God’s senior leader. Jesus spoke to them under this spiritual covering of Hope of God Church that God wanted them to build his church and that Dr. H. S. Kusumo was appointed as senior pastor. The 1st service was held on Sunday, 2nd August 1990 at their home. There were only 12 teenagers from the 40 people they won personally from the fellowship joining their church. They were the 1st members of Hope of God Solo Church.


OUTPOURING OF THE HOLY SPIRIT IN SOLO

Last February, Brother Peter Truong visited our church. We held a Healing Workshop and Healing Service. Brother Peter taught our leaders how to pray for the sick with power and anointing. He added to our knowledge with the gifts of healing teaching.

At the leaders meeting, all the leaders were given the opportunity to put what they were taught into practice. We prayed for each other and learned how to pray for each others needs. This was so that the leaders could be able to pray for others at the Healing Service on Friday and Sunday Service.




On Friday, February 8, we had a healing workshop where God healed some of the people. We had three healing services in a week. One was in the Holy Spirit Meeting, the second in the morning Sunday Service, and last in Sunday evening. Brother Peter also visited the family and working people care groups and prayed for people there. Besides that, he met with the youth group and prayed for them. Such exciting moments we had with Brother Peter. God is really great!



HEALING TESTIMONIES


Testimony 1: Mrs. Erlinawati

Mrs. Erlinawati’s vision was healed after receiving healing. When she went to the church, her eyes over-produced tears that would flow to her nose. After being prayed for, she was healed. The tears stopped flowing and her vision was clearer and better.








Testimony 2 : Brother Joshua

Before the healing meeting, his left leg and waist felt like it was tied. He felt the pain really interfered with his daily activities. This feeling of tightness began six years ago after a fall and eventually his right leg started to feel stiff. However after prayer, he was healed. Praise the LORD!










Testimony 3: Mrs. Suyatni

Mrs. Suyatni feels light when she walks with her legs feeling no more pain. This allows her to walk normally. Before prayer, Mrs Suyatni felt stiffness in her leg which was reduced after prayer.
