HOPE ADELAIDE CHURCH

HOPE ADELAIDE CHURCH VIDEO

Watch Video Interview

Greetings from Pastor Brendan from Hope Adelaide! I just want to
encourage you that it’s great to serve God. About 10 years ago, we came over to Adelaide from Hope Melbourne.

[Pastor Brendan & Helen Kirby]

At Hope Melbourne, we had around seven years of training, before being released by the leadership team to come over to South Australia. Joining with Peter Truong, and others, we pioneered and started Hope Adelaide.

Building A Multicultural Community

We’ve had a great time and we’re approaching our 10th anniversary this year in 2008. We’re really looking forward to celebrating 10 years here in Adelaide. We really want to thank God for the good things that he has done over the years and giving us the honour and privilege of working together with a great team to serve God. It’s a real joy to our hearts and our need for significance and acceptance has really been met, by walking with God and serving God.

[Visitation by Ps Simon Eng & Ps Lai Ling]

We want to encourage our churches to reach out to different people from different backgrounds as we now have quite a multicultural church.

We’re trying to reach out to a variety of cultures: we have a contingent from Africa, a number from Caucasian backgrounds, and of course, an international student group that is flourishing as well.

So we really thank God for the opportunity to be big hearted and relate to a diverse range of people in a multicultural context.

Church Planting in Adelaide

We are very excited about the Great Commission and training leaders and planting churches! We want to reach out to people in faith and believe God for signs and wonders and have faith that God will help prosper our pioneered churches.

We started another centre, just last November in 2007 and the average attendance has been 30 people since then. Six months later, it is still going strong and we are training up our leaders and getting the team together.

It really has been a great time of consolidation for us, and we are looking to plant more churches in South Australia.

We are very excited about challenging our leaders to have greater faith, having an attitude that ‘yes, God can use me to plant a church, hallelujah!” We want to encourage our people that God can use them to be a part of planting a church. So have a big vision, have a big dream, because God is a big God and God wants to do great things in, and through you, for His glory, amen!

Testimony by Samuel Tamba from Liberia

My name is Samuel Tamba; I’m from Liberia, in western Africa. I came to Adelaide in 2006, and when I met my brothers and sisters at Hope Adelaide, they encouraged me to join the church since it loves people, and loves to be around them, a church that would encourage you when you were feeling down.

So because of that, they encouraged me a lot and I decided to join Hope Adelaide. When I joined the church, that was when I started being involved, and being a part of the church. My role in the church is being a backup singer, because I can sing. What I really like about Hope Adelaide is that it’s a friendly church, a church that loves people. You can see a lot of Africans are in the church. It’s because when Africans see that people love them, they want to be a part of that. This is important to them because they want people to love them because of the situation back in their war torn countries. They want to be loved by people and it’s good being part of the Christian family, because we are loved.
