Pioneering Team in Hope Utrecht 
Albert and Clair Eikelenboom are leading Hope Utrecht, The Netherlands. Utrecht is a city with a population of 300 000 people and it is located exactly in the middle of the Netherlands. Hope Utrecht is currently at the pioneering stage. The church has a team of three people, and has a public meeting every Sunday. Albert and Claire have been reaching out to the Dutch people in a variety of ways. Claire is originally from China and has been reaching out to the Chinese ladies living in Utrecht. Some of those Chinese ladies have started attending church through Claire’s friendship evangelism. Albert has been making friends with the Dutch people in the community. He invites people over to his house for a monthly Saturday game night. Stefan is a student at Utrecht University completing his Masters in Urban Planning. In his spare time, Stefan is focussed in reaching out to university students.
Evangelism at Utrecht University 
Peter Truong came to Hope Utrecht to do evangelism at university and conduct a Healing Service. Albert, Stefan and Peter visited Utrecht University to invite students to attend the Healing Service. They met one African Muslim at the hospital in the university and asked him come to the Healing Service. He said he was unable to come for the meeting but wanted his Christian friends to come to the Healing service. On Sunday, an African Christian called Moses came to Healing service because his Muslim friend invited him to church. God used a person from an Islamic background to bring his Christian friend to church! Glory to God!
Sunday Afternoon service 
There were two services on Sunday. The regular 1 pm service in the afternoon and Healing service at 7pm. Jan and Cheryl from Hope Singapore came to visit and support Hope Utrecht on Sunday. Peter Truong preached in both services at Hope Utrecht on the “Power of God for healing”. In the afternoon service, a Dutch lady walked into church for the first time after visiting the Hope Utrecht website (http://www.hopechurches.nl/), which she found by searching the internet. For a small group like Utrecht, having a good web site is a very effective tool in bringing people to come and visit the church. The church was so glad to see one Dutch visitor in the afternoon. God touched this lady by healing her emotionally during the service. She shed tears in the church during prayer.
Sunday night Healing Service 
Hope Utrecht made 1000 leaflets and placed them everywhere: in houses close to the church building, put them at a snack bar, the library and a Christian bookshop, and gave them out during evangelism. They have been praying and fasted from meat for one week and during the last three days, fasted until evening. We asked God to bring Dutch people to the healing service. The church was amazed by the blessing from God during the Sunday night healing service. There were 18 people who came to the healing service. We thank God for 13 first time visitors. 6 people came through the leaflets we distributed during the week, meaning that on average, 170 leaflets brought 1 person to come to church. For this, we were very thankful to God. They were all Christians going to churches which are not active with God’s healing power .The majority of the visitors were Dutch people living in the neighbourhood because they wanted to know more about healing service. When Peter invited people to come forward to altar call, almost everyone stepped forward. 
TESTIMONY OF HEALINGS God healed Moses of a very sore throat 
An African gentleman named Moses living Utrecht came to church because a Muslim friend invited him. Moses suffered from a sore throat and the condition was so severe that he had been coughing blood. He was unable to speak properly due to the intense pain in his throat. After receiving prayer at the healing service, he came forward and testified to the church that he was healed by God. He is now able to speak aloud without experiencing too much pain for the first time in 6 months. Moses thanks God for restoring his speech after prayer. He will definitely go back to his Muslim friend and share about God’s healing power!
God healed Andrew of chest tightness 
An Indian gentleman named Andrew from Malaysia visiting Utrecht came to church experiencing tightness in his chest and shortness of breath. After prayer, he was able to breath more easily and really sensed the peace of God. His wife was also touched by God after prayer.
Giving Glory to God Hope Utrecht thanks God for the success of their first ever Healing service. It was a leap of faith to conduct a Healing service and for that, God blessed the church. We thank God for the physical and emotional healings we witnessed on Sunday. A few Dutch ladies received emotional healing after prayer at the Healing Service. They said they enjoyed the Healing Service. |
