Church planting in Berlin
Marcus Rose rededicated his life to Christ in Thailand and God gave him a vision to plant churches in Germany. In November 1999, Marcus started the first care group in Berlin. He reached out to both German and international students at the universities. God began to bring in locals into the church. As the church grew more new centres started in Germany such as Hope Frankfurt (Oder), Hope Chemnitz, Hope Stuttgart, Hope Dresden, Hope Leipzig. Marcus is married to Stefanie and they have a daughter called Sonika.
Hope Germany Festival 
This is a special annual camp for church members and visitors across Germany. The theme for this year’s Festival was called “We are not from this World”. 270 people attended the camp, which was held in Reichenbach. The speakers were Pastor Marcus, Pastor Kajin, Matthias Keller and Sebastian Unger. One of the highlights of the camp was to see 9 people being water baptised.
Beautiful Sunday Service 
The Sunday Service in Hope Berlin is filled with joy and laughter as Pastor Marcus preaches God’s Word. He makes the Bible relevant and applicable to his congregation using many funny jokes and illustrations. The theme of each sermon captivates the audience and new visitors attend the church service almost every week. There is always a great time of fellowship during after-service coffee. After coffee, Pastor Marcus meets with all the new visitors for a time of discussion and answering questions. Meanwhile, the church members have a team meeting.
Hope Berlin Youth Group 
Christine Muller is the youth leader of Hope Berlin. The youth group meets every second Saturday. It is exciting to see God, in recent years, add more people to the youth group. The youth program includes games, bible reading and discussions. Currently, there are about 20 members and visitors attending the youth group.
Evangelism & Friday Night Party 
Hope Berlin and Peter Truong visited the universities and hit the streets to invite people for their Friday party and Sunday service. It was encouraging to see some new church members approach people and invite them to come to church activities.
At the party on Friday night, the church set up a professional non-alcoholic bar and DJ. The tables were lit up with candles to create a relaxed atmosphere. The DJ played great music and people enjoyed dancing. There were some visitors at the party and those who came had a good time. Plans are underway for the next party in November to reach out to more friends for Christ.
