a calling from malaysia to germany

Kajin Teoh from Hope JB, Malaysia travelled to Esslingen/Stuttgart, Germany to study his Masters of Science in Automatic Engineering in 2001. While he was still studying, the Lord called Kajin to pioneer a church in Germany. He started to share Christ with Germans and international students at the university campus. The first care group meeting was held in October 2001. Kajin led Steffen Cornehl, a German engineering student, to Christ. Steffen would later on lead Hope Stuttgart. God also used Kajin to bring many international students to Christ, making Hope Stuttgart a multicultural church. The Hope Stuttgart centre has around 40 to 50 attendees on Sunday. Church Planting in Frankfurt (Oder)
Uli Rockstroh accepted Christ in Hope Berlin in February 2000 during the church’s early days. Then, in October 2000, she moved to Frankfurt (Oder) to study at the university and pioneered a house church. After Uli completed her education, she moved back to Berlin to pioneer a house church for professionals, and she was part of the leadership team in Hope Berlin
Vision for Ruhrpott (North/West Germany)
In July 2007 Kajin and Uli got married in Stuttgart. The Lord placed a vision in Kajin and Uli to help pioneer Hope churches in the North-western region of Germany. This region is the most populated in Germany and is home to many international companies. In October, 2007, Kajin and Uli moved to Essen, which is the centre of Ruhrpott region, for church planting. A Malaysian couple from Hope Stuttgart called Jia Uei and Sally also joined the pioneering team
Reaching out in Essen city On Wednesday and Thursday, the pioneering team and Peter went out to the shopping centre and university to conduct surveys and invite people to the House warming party on Thursday night. God blessed the team with about 15 German and International student contacts over two days of evangelism. House Warming Party
Kajin and Uli arrived in Essen 3 weeks ago and decided to have a House Warming Party so they could invite all their new contacts from the workplace and university. Thank God for 18 people who came to the party including fellow team members. There were 13 visitors from various countries such as Germany, Italy, Russia, Turkey, Malaysia, China and Vietnam. Everyone enjoyed each other’s company and all were willing to keep in touch. This is a wonderful step toward starting a care group meeting in November.
