The church has members and visitors from over 20 countries such as America, The United Kingdom, France, Ghana, Angola, South Africa, Australia, Malaysia, Singapore, Thailand, India, Sri Lanka, China, Japan, the Philippines, etc. Over the years, people have accepted Christ in the church and have returned to their respective countries to pioneer Hope churches. Hope Bangkok, IF has a strong missions focus in Thailand and overseas. A GLOBAL VISION There are three pastors in the Hope Bangkok, IF: Pastor David Chen, Pastor Isaac and Pastor Chris. Apart from bringing God’s love to the international communities in Bangkok and to assist IF in other Hope churches in Thailand, Hope Bangkok, IF has the vision to pioneer and support a new group in one country in the world every year. In the last few years the Lord has directed Pastor David and his team to pioneer churches in Ethiopia, Ghana, Togo and Benin. As a gifted pastor, he was invited to minister at bible conferences in many countries around the world. [Church Planting in Africa] Hope Bangkok IF, Filipino Service [The first Filipino Service in IF] Hope Bangkok IF had its first Filipino Service on Sunday 2nd December. Pastor David Chen gave a very inspiring message on “Fulfill the Great Commission.” The members were encouraged to move their faith to the next level and do greater things for God. The Filipino members hope that this service will be a launching pad for even greater ministries, especially in the area of church growth and church planting. There were 78 people at the service (61 Filipinos, 5 Thais, 1 American and 11 children). Thank God for 15 first time visitors. Most of the visitors liked the Filipino service and committed themselves to attend next Sunday’s service. Some visitors also expressed desired to join care group and be involved with the ministries in the church. OUTPOURING OF THE HOLY SPIRIT This week, Brother Peter Truong was in Hope Bangkok IF to conduct a Prayer meeting with the leaders as well as a Healing Workshop and Healing Service. Together with Pastor David Chen and leaders of the church, Peter Truong prophesied, gave words of knowledge, prayed for the sick and ministered healing. The church witnessed God’s work and heard God spoke to the lives of His people. It was a week of an outpouring of God’s Spirit and His healing touch. God is sending His message to us through the life of Brother Peter Truong that “God is healing us, not just to display His power, but to display His love”. Jesus went through all the towns and villages, teaching in their synagogues,preaching the good news of the kingdom and healing every disease and sickness. (Matthew 9:35) TESTIMONY OF GOD’S HEALING God healed Patty’s leg… Patty is one of the leaders of IF-Bangkok who went to the Friday Healing Workshop. When she was a child, Patty fell from a cliff. As a result, one leg became shorter than the other. She occasionally experienced back pain. The cause was diagnosed by a doctor as arising from the accident. When Peter called for people who had a 'walking problem' to come forward for prayer, Patty was among those who came during altar call because of her back pain. Several leaders laid their hands on her and prayed for God's healing. When she went home, she was so tired that she just fell asleep. However, to her amazement, the next day she noticed her toes and legs were the same length! Praise God, Patty is healed! God healed Roger’s right shoulder pain… For several months now, Roger has been attending Hope IF, Bangkok when his company transferred him to Thailand. Four years ago, he suffered an accident and since then has been enduring pain on his right shoulder. When Roger entered the congregating area for the Sunday Healing Service, his shoulder pain was especially very uncomfortable. After the preaching, he was one of those that came forward for prayer for during the altar call. Immediately, his shoulders felt very light and the pain was instantly gone! Glory to God for His awesome works! God healed Gail of bleeding… Gail is an incoming CG leader of the Filipino Group. For seven years, she has been suffering from internal bleeding. The doctors detected an abnormal growth in her ovary and recommended her immediately for surgery. During the operation, the doctors found three Myomas and advised the removal of her uterus and ovaries as well. But she refused this due to her desire to have another baby. Later on, she came to regret this choice. The doctors respected her decision and opted to prescribe male hormone for 6 months to prevent her normal menstrual cycle. However, after a month of unsuccessful treatment, the medication had to be stopped. After the operation, the infection returned and she had to see the doctor 12 times to restore her back to health. This was really traumatic for her and she resolved never to undergo surgery again. The following years were very uncomfortable for her. A few days after her monthly menstrual cycle, she will bleed again excessively which would last for many weeks. She went to as many healing meetings as she could remember, believing that God would heal her. This is why she came to the Friday Healing Workshop in faith. When Gail came forward for prayer, she suddenly felt the rushing power go through her body. After the meeting, she felt she was healed, but she wanted to confirm it first. Although the blood did not gush out as usual, she was still hesitant to claim it. When Sunday came, her blood issue normalised! Praise to the God of wonders! God healed Nanette’s skin problem… Nanette is a dedicated housewife and a committed leader in IF-Bangkok Church. She has been suffering a skin problem on her hands for the past 4 months. Unfortunately, she was not able to attend the Sunday Healing Service due to her involvement in the children’s ministry. Although the healing service had already ended, Nanette still asked for prayers by Peter and leaders. They anointed her hands with oil. On Wednesday after church, we asked how her hands had progressed and when she showed us, we were amazed because they were healed! Only a slight trace near her thumb remained, but this has also dried up. Praise God!
