LIGHTHOUSE CHURCH, PHNOM PENH CAMBODIA

I had the privilege of going on a mission trip to Phnom Penh, Cambodia, through Aglow Assembly Church. Pastor Jimmy Leong, from Aglow Assembly Church in Kuala Lumpur, has ongoing mission support work in Cambodia with Lighthouse Christian Assembly Church. Pastor Nora, originally from the Philippines, moved to Phnom Penh to plant churches. She pioneered Lighthouse Christian Assembly, which has planted a few daughter churches in Phnom Penh and in other provinces over the last 15 years.

Raymond Eng from Aglow Assembly led the mission team of 15 people, which included three children. During the five -day mission trip, the team had the opportunity to minister to a few churches in the city and rural areas. We went on a five hour bus journey to a village to conduct a Sunday school program for the children, a Sunday service and water baptism ceremony. The children in the village were blessed through the games and gifts. We witnessed many people healed during the Sunday service. People with vision problems came forward for prayer and their eyesight improved. We thank God for over forty people from the village who were water baptised. We also ministered to the pastors at the Bible College for two mornings.

I stayed on for another two weeks at Phnom Penh after the mission team returned to Kuala Lumpur. I ministered at the churches and slums. I preached the word of God in three Lighthouse Christian Assembly churches, one Vietnamese church and one Victory Family Centre church. God revealed His love and power in a tangible ways during the church service. Five people accepted Christ and people received physical and emotional healing. There was a boy who had a growth in the inner part of his nose which hindered his breathing. After prayer, he could breathe normally through his nose.

It is wonderful to see that the churches are reaching out to the community by establishing kindergarten, language classes and helping the poor. There are many young people turning to Christ. Please continue to pray for Cambodia because the harvest is ripe.
