Well it began in the 80s, where several Indonesian migrant students who came to
study in the US experienced a move of God. They were touched by the fire of God and from then on, it became a movement; a worldwide movement in about 36 different countries. We've more than 3,000 churches all over the world. And we're blessed to have one of our local churches here in the Beverly Hills area. We've been in the Beverly Hills area for about 16 years.
Pioneering FGIF Beverly Hills
Well, it began with the word of Ps. Danny Hanafi who is our senior pastor, who sensed that God wanted to move in the lives of the young people. At that time, we had people in the western LA area going to school and they yearned to have just a Godly fellowship among them. So that's when it all started back in 1995.
Reaching & discipling students
I don't know if I know the answer but God has been just so good. I guess it was just the vision that we received from God that we are placed in the United States. We got a vision maybe back in the 90s, where God gave us a picture of an oil refinery. The young people are just like the crude oil and we are placed like the pipeline here to basically process all of the crude oil: refine them so that after their time is finished here in the US, we can send them back, we can release them to be fruitful in the marketplace wherever they are at. That is the picture that God gave us.

Ministry in Beverly Hills Maybe our cameraman can show all these stores and brand names that are here. But in the midst of all these luxurious things, God is just moving so powerfully because neither luxury nor material possessions can give us satisfaction. Only Jesus can give us meaning and purpose to be on this planet. So love Jesus and get into His program and you will be fulfilled.
And if I could just say one more thing, we appreciate so much Brother Peter's ministry here. He's been used by God a lot. Our church was so encouraged. I know that we got built up this past weekend by Jesus through the work of Brother Peter here. So we appreciate this relationship so much.
